Connect one meter lead to one of the fuse’s terminals. Connect the other meter lead to the other fuse terminal. If your meter reads out of limits, the fuse is bad and needs replacement. A reading of anything other than out of limits (OL) indicates the fuse is intact. The video below demonstrates testing an alternator fuse with a DMM: The alternator will often test normal unless the test bench it is connected to puts an extended load on it. When the voltage regulator starts to go bad the variations it causes in the system can cause the battery light to go on and off. Often without any rhyme or reason. The most common alternator failure symptoms are listed below: Dim or especially bright headlights or other vehicle lighting. Lighting that seems to swell in brightness with increased engine speed. Slow window motors, weak power locks, or other electrical accessories with reduced capacities. A battery that won’t stay fully charged or 2003 Ford Excursion V10 here, have 2 wires going into the alternator plug, different colors though. One is orange with a black strip, the other is black with a light green strip. Plug has three holes, mine are numbered 1,2,3, orange is in number 3 towards the top of the alternator, black is in hole number 1 towards the bottom of the alternator.
And on top of that, there is concern their alternator requires too much torque for the Ford bracket (previous attempts to use Nation's 12v brackets with their 48V failed for this reason). All of that makes Nations' upcoming new system look like the only viable 48V/160A solution for a 2020 Transit.

Step 1 – Clear the way to the tensioner. Pop the hood. On the radiator shroud you’ll see a sticker with the layout of the serpentine belt. If not, locate your serpentine belt layout in the images below (figure 3). Locate the belt tensioner, it’ll look like a pulley with an arm coming off of it. Figure 1. G4vr7C.
